Welcome to The Papillon Clinic

I have created The Papillon Clinic to represent and advocate for growth and transformation. Papillon is the French word for “butterfly” and I chose it for the representation it has with transformation and positive change. “Papillon” by Henri Charriere, is one of my favourite books; highlighting the importance for me of integrity, strength and determination.

I believe in working with other medical and allied health professionals collaboratively to ensure that each patient receives personalised and evidence-based care. The Papillon Clinic will be a specialised GP service that will run in line with these principles and will cater for areas is women’s health; transgender health and aesthetic medicine.

Appointments can be made via GP and Specialist referral or self-referral:

I have working closely with Dr Michelle McRae (Dermatologist & Vulvar Specialist) to provide a service focused on vulval dermatology. This includes symptoms of chronic & recurrent itch, pain, undiagnosed lesions and dyspareunia. Common pathology that will be managed includes:

  • Lichen Sclerosus
  • Lichen Planus
  • Chronic vulvovaginal candidiasis
  • Vulval psoriasis
  • Vulval dermatitis
  • Vaginismus
  • STIs

I will be offering a specialised service focusing on care for women during perimenopause and menopause. Through my work as a GP I have come to realise that many women suffer unnecessarily from debilitating symptoms during perimenopause and menopause.

There are many safe and effective treatments available which can improve quality of life and health care outcomes. Menopause care is complex and requires an individualised approach. This service will provide evidence-based advice and management in collaboration with a patient’s usual GP. It will strictly be related to perimenopause and menopause related needs which includes:

  • Hot flushes and night sweats
  • Mood disturbance
  • Sleep problems
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Sexual pain
  • Poor libido
  • Menstrual issues
  • Urinary frequency

From September I will be offering facial aesthetics which will include botulin toxin A and dermal fillers. The long-term goal is also to offer gender affirming aesthetic medicine.

I will provide a specialised service to the transgender community in the Central West that offers advice, support and medical care. This service will provide referral pathways for diagnosis and mental health support, endocrinology support and gender affirmation hormone therapy. Patients of all ages will be able to access the service. Hormone therapy will be in line with current NSW prescribing legislation.  This service will be available for appointments in December 2023.
